Hyatt Place Chantilly/Dulles Airport-South

My husband and I stayed at the hotel for two nights to attend a wedding nearby. I reserved the room only a few days ahead of our start and were, unfortunately, never informed that the hotel was undergoing extensive construction; I certainly would have stayed elsewhere had I known... When we arrived the first thing we saw was black sheeting lining the walls. The day we arrived we experienced loud construction noise and unreliable WiFi, but the next day wasn't as bad. Breakfast was okay, albeit some items were cold as I assume they were using a makeshift breakfast area. On a more positive note, the room itself was nice, perhaps renovated already.

I stayed there for 2 nights in late July with my husband and sister. It was a nice stay. No problems with getting service. However, they were low on ice the first night we checked in and other guests seemed upset over this, so the front end receptionist got it at the bar for them. Very accommodating. Huge rooms with large sitting area. Mattress was heaven! Breakfast was surprisingly good. But, we did not know about, somehow we never inquired about it, they have a quite nice pool! It was so hot, in the 90's and I was drooling over this pool every time we passed it! We don't pack our bathing suits! And never got to run into a nearby shop. It was in a great location for us. Close to family we visited in Centerville. We plan on staying with you again in September.for a family reunion we are attending.

Granddaughter and I spent the night at this lovely hotel and needed to catch flight next morning. Staff is absolutely phenomenal and wonderful room. This is a 5 in my book. Shuttle to airport and free parking. This is truly a relaxing, efficient and family friendly Hyatt. Left item at front desk and they graciously mailed to my home.

The first thing I noticed in my room was a large puddle of water on the carpet that smelled of mildew by the air conditioner. Then I noticed there was open food and drinks in a cabinet. Open loaf of bread, half full jug of vodka, gummies and open chips. I brought this to the attention of the front desk person. His response was "I don't know what to say." So I asked him to have room service clean the room the next day. They never even came to the room the next day. Water glasses in the room were full of dust. Cannot recommend

AVOID. Booked here due to attending an event in the immediate area. It would have been so convenient for us to stay here but we turned around fast. Decided to rather endure my 1.5 year old crying in the car all the way home as opposed to staying in this hotel! Upon entering the lobby everything is very dark. I headed up to the 4th floor room only to be hit with a very strong weed smell (wearing KN95 mask too). I tried walking down the hall to see if it had dissipated by the time I reached our room but it did not. So I asked for a different room, which I was given right away. Unfortunately on the 5th floor and in the elevator there is a smell of both fresh and stale cigarette smoke. Idk for my family this is not okay. I've stayed in other Hyatt Places before that have not been anything like this. It desperately needs a renovation, and better ventilation. Carpet is dark too and there are stains. Cobwebs and trim coming off the wall by the AC. The only saving grace here was the staff member Adam who was very understanding and efficient.
